Privacy policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026.
Wigo is a product of Xtechnologies, S.A. (“Wigo”, “we”), based in Guatemala. This policy explains what data we collect on letswigo.com and in the Wigo app, what we use it for, who we share it with, and what you can ask of us. It is written to be read in full in a few minutes. If anything is unclear, write to hello@letswigo.com.
What we promise
Three commitments shape everything else, and they are the same ones on the site’s trust section:
- Reviewed before it publishes. A new report goes through review before it reaches everyone’s map.
- We don’t sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- We don’t show your exact location to other users. Your location does one job: it shows you what’s nearby and places what you report.
What we collect
On the website
- Your email address, if you join the waitlist, along with the language you signed up in. The form also sends two anti-abuse signals that we check and discard: a hidden field that a person never fills in, and how long the form was open before you sent it. Neither is stored.
- Technical data about the visit. Our hosting provider keeps the IP address and the request for a short period to protect the site from abuse, for example by limiting how many times a minute the form can be submitted. The site uses cookieless, aggregated audience measurement: it does not identify you or follow you across sites. We use no tracking cookies and no advertising pixels.
In the app, once it is available in your area
- Your account. You sign in with Google or Facebook; we receive your name, email and profile photo according to what you authorise there. We store no passwords.
- What you post. The text, photos, category, date and map point of every report you create, and the confirmations you give to other people’s reports.
- Your approximate location while you use the map, to show you what is nearby. The exact location of a report is placed by you when you create it and is part of the report.
- Your interests and alerts. The categories you choose and your device’s notification identifier, to send you alerts for your area.
What we use it for
- To tell you when Wigo reaches your area, if you are on the waitlist.
- To show you what is happening near you on the map, ordered by your interests.
- To publish your reports and the community’s confirmations.
- To send you alerts for your area, if you turn them on.
- To review reports before publishing them, handle content reports and blocks, and keep the app safe.
- To meet legal obligations when a competent authority requires it.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not build a history of your movements.
Your location
Your location does one job: it shows you what’s nearby and places what you report. We don’t build a history of your movements and we don’t share it with other users. Other users see the point of a report that you placed yourself; they never see where you are.
Review and moderation
A new report goes through review before it reaches everyone’s map. From any report you can flag inappropriate content and block the person who posted it. Posting carries responsibility: account verification and report history exist so the person who posts answers for what they post.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data. We share it only with who is needed for Wigo to work:
- Other users, who see the reports you publish with your visible name, their content and the map point you chose. They do not see your email or your location.
- Providers working for us: the email service that sends the waitlist messages, the site’s hosting and cookieless audience measurement, the Google and Facebook sign-in services, and Apple’s and Google’s notification services. Each receives only what its function needs.
- Authorities, when a valid law or order requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your waitlist email, until you unsubscribe or until Wigo is available in your area and we have told you so.
- Your account data and reports, for as long as your account exists. When you delete it, we delete your account and anonymise the reports the community has already confirmed, so the map stays useful without pointing at you.
- Technical logs, for the short period our providers need for the security of the service.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access your data, correct it, delete it, or remove you from the waitlist. Every waitlist email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. For everything else, write to hello@letswigo.com from the email linked to your account and we will answer within a reasonable time.
Minors
Wigo is not intended for anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us their data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page and, when the change matters, tell you by email or inside the app before it takes effect.
